is quite simple and twofold: to answer the question
What is a good technical translation in
Spanish? and to provide language services at a quality
level you can live with.
Beware of translation outfits that promise the lowest price in the market. If they charge at-cost rates, what is their incentive to add value to your product or service? If you think our services are expensive, ask yourself this question: "Expensive as compared to what exactly?" A bilingual receptionist may make $15/hr but does not have the skills to translate with efficiency and appropriateness. Translation is not about switching words but interpreting meanings and cultural context with precision. A good technical document in Spanish reads as if it had been originally written in Spanish. Typographical conventions are observed and appropriate document design techniques are implemented. It is not enough that readers understand the information but that they use it immediately without undue distractions.
